RWL Library

The library is the heart of Rebel Women Lit. It holds fiction, poetry, theory, memoir, and scholarship. Much of the library is from the Caribbean, all of it chosen with intention. It is free to borrow from, open to anyone who can receive mail across Jamaica.

For ease, our library exists on an external link

  • Books are sent every Monday via Post Office and every Thursday via Knutsford Express. Post Office is cheaper — worth considering if you're outside Kingston.
If you're collecting via Knutsford Express, please collect within 48 hours of dispatch and cover any storage fees incurred.

    1. Borrow what you actually want to read. Community Members may request up to three titles on the form — we'll deliver what's available and add you to the waitlist for the rest. RWL Patrons may select up to six.

    2. Return books on time. If you need an extension, contact the Librarian by email, WhatsApp, SMS, or call — before the due date, not after. Late fees apply from the day the loan period ends.

    3. Use a bookmark. Keep the books clean and in the condition you received them.

    4. If a book doesn't grab you, return it and try another. Bad books bruk vibes - and someone else might love it.

  • The library is free to use and runs on patronage and donations. If you'd like to contribute to its upkeep, you can become a quarterly patron or donate cash when you retuern books.
